To build the Kingdom of God on the foundation that has been established through Jesus Christ by developing a ministry that is biblically sound, culturally relevant and transparent to meeting the needs of Today’s Single Adults (1 Corinthians 3:11).
Biblically Sound – We believe according to 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that all scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. Everything we need to live victoriously in this season of our lives as Single Adults we will find in the unadulterated (pure, absolute) Word of God.
Culturally Relevant – Today we have such a diverse culture and because of that from a culture perspective (and as Christians) we will take a stand on knowing who we are in Christ by being educated through God’s on Word on how to survive this season of our lives. We’ll be bringing relevant information to Today’s Single Adults whether never married, single parents, divorced, or widowed.
Transparent – This season of life…being Single is not an easy one. We are reminded in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 – “we are hard pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” We will be open and honest about this season we are in…being Single. We will share our challenges, struggles, victories, and defeats all for the sake of changing the hearts of those who are lost towards the One who saves.
Mission Statement
FOCUS is an outreach ministry of Waukegan Community Church, which shares the love of Jesus Christ by faithfully reaching out to individuals to encourage Spiritual Development and Personal Growth through: Godly Service, Fellowship, Social, Educational, and Cultural events and activities (Matthew 6:33).
