Reception Ministry
Ushers and Greeters
The ushers and greeters are to greet people as they enter and leave the church, seat people at the proper time, and provide bulletins and/or other materials at the time of seating. The ushers and greeters will be attentive to the needs of the congregation and the pastor.
Hebrew 13:17, Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep
watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be
a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.
The usher is a servant for Christ, whose opportunity it is to do good unto all them who are of the household of faith (Galathians 6:10). Ushering is a ministry that expresses God's invitation to all mankind to come unto Him. The usher’s presentation speaks to the character of the Church fellowship. “Let all things be done decently and in order.” (I Corinthians 14:40). “Let your light so shine before men that they may see your good works and glorify the Father in heaven”. (Matthew 5:16)
Psalm 84:10, "...for a day in thy courts is better than a thousand, I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than to dwell in the tents of wickedness”.
